        This is the summary of the functions of the files in the
        ARJ archive QTOOLSV1.ARJ. For release informations read

        Have fun!

0BYTE.EXE
~~~~~~~~~
        0BYTE.EXE is a program to set the filesize of ALL files
        in a PCBoard filedir to 0 byte. The I use it with my
        filedir of "deleted files", to keep the summary of bytes
        of those filedirs at 0 byte.
DELDUMMY.EXE
~~~~~~~~~~~~
        DELDUMMY.EXE deletes files and creates 0 byte files of
        the deleted files. I use it to delete old files, dupes or
        fakes and create dummy (0 byte'ies) files in my dummy-dir
        to prevent another upload of those files.

DELOLD.EXE
~~~~~~~~~~
        DELOLD.EXE deletes specified files with filedates older
        than n days. I use it to get rid of thousands of dummy
        files. Since my HD space was very limited (just about
        900mb for recent wares) I could only keep about the last
        4 days online. When I use deldummy.exe to create dummy
        files, after some weeks there are thousands of dummy
        files in a directory. I could not delete all of them,
        because then I would get dupe uploads of already deleted
        files. So I coded a program that would delete them if
        they are older than n days.
        This is also very useful is you have MUCH hd space and
        keep alot of files online. Just move them to ONE dir and
        run this program every few days to delete old programs.
        So you can automize your bbs to keep just n days online.
FV.EXE
~~~~~~
        FV.EXE is a program to quickly list the contents of
        archives. I think it is very useful for sysops, to
        quickly check from DOS prompt what files are in a ZIP
        archive, so I included it in the package.

GZIP.EXE
~~~~~~~~
        GZIP.EXE can expand GZIP files from UNIX systems.
        Sometimes useful if you swap files with unix hosts.
        It also can compress files... (btw)
        Since most Unix systems support ZIP it may be
        out-of-date, but it is just a tiny program, so keep it on
        your disk...
HOG.EXE
~~~~~~~
        HOG.EXE processes the path from parameter 1 (or recent,
        if no parameter is passed to program) and counts the size
        of the subdirectories and displays them in a graphical
        (EGA) statistic.
        This program is old and useful if your hd is full, and
        you do not know where all the bytes have gone to ;-) Just
        check your dirs, and follow the dirs who look 'strange'
        large...

LOWER.EXE
~~~~~~~~~
        LOWER.EXE is a program to convert all characters in a
        file to low case. Use it on textfiles WHERE THE AUTHOR
        WAS SO COOL AND WROTE EVERYTHING WITH CAPS-LOCK ON. It is
        also useful to convert files like autoexec.bat or net.cfg
        to lower case because you can better read them.
        Maximum size for each line in the textfile is 255 chars.
        Better not use with binary files ;-)
RECOM.EXE
~~~~~~~~~
        RECOM.EXE is a program to strip/add comments to a (or
        many) ZIP files. I use it in my pcbtest.bat and use it to
        strip comments from files before taping them.
        Old, tiny and useful.

SHIFTIT.EXE
~~~~~~~~~~~
        SHIFTIT.EXE is the opposite to LOWER.EXE. Shiftit
        converts all characters in a textfile to upper-case. I
        use it to shift all descriptions in a PCBoard filedir to
        upper case, because I think it looks better if the file
        descriptions are upper-case. I may be used with every
        ascii file.
SHOWKEY.EXE
~~~~~~~~~~~
        SHOWKEY.EXE shows the ASCII-code and keyboard scan code
        of keys. Useful if you code a program and do not have an
        ASCII table. "What was the ASCII code of return?" - Just
        shell to DOS and type showkey and press return.
        Old&Tiny&Sometimes useful.

SKIPFILT.EXE
~~~~~~~~~~~~
        SKIPFILT.EXE should be called SKIPFILTER.EXE. I noticed
        that PCBoard used to HANG sometimes if a user did a
        filetransfer with MANY files skipped (two or more
        hundreds) using PCBoard Zmodem. This program removes all
        skipped files from the logfile, that PCBoard only have to
        process a log file with transfered files.
        Use only with PCBDSZ.LOG or compatible logfiles.
        I put it into my PCBRZ.BAT and PCBxH.BAT files.
STRIPAV.EXE
~~~~~~~~~~~
        STRIPAV.EXE removes the Authenticity Verification data
        from PKWare ZIP files. I use it in my pcbtest.bat to pass
        no files with AV-errors to "pkunzip -t %1"...

TAPELIST.EXE
~~~~~~~~~~~~
        TAPELIST.EXE is a program to extract FILE_ID.DIZ from
        files and add it to a PCBoard filedir.
        I told SLe to write this small one, because ZipZap is too
        complex to use for a quick and simple "filelist"...
        There are some bugs: If a DIZ is longer than 25 lines (or
                so) you'll get a runtime error.
                Hmm, don't remember what the other was...
        If the dirfile does not exist, it will be created. If a
        ZIP contains no DIZ, tapelist will use "NO DESCRIPTION
        GIVEN" as description.
ZACK.EXE
~~~~~~~~
        ZACK.EXE is a program to save the file date/time in a
        seperate file and restore them.
        If you edit a file and want the original filedate after
        editing, use this. Store the data before editing it, edit
        it, and restore the data then from the temp-file.
        You may use it in a routine to add a bbs-tag to a
        FILE_ID.DIZ - if you're a lamer. Do not add tags to
        FILE_ID.DIZs ...
        There are many usages of this timy program...
