There are 2 files in this Zip file:

README.TXT 1357	This one
PATREF23.HLP	97893	The GUS Patchmaking Reference (version 2.3)

If these numbers are significantly different from your files, or if there are any extras, I would advise that you run a virus scan on them. Actually, you should run one anyway. And don't use the pitifully ineffective one that they include with MSDOS 6. Use F-Prot or McAfee Associates SCAN.

Improvements since the last version:
	More graphics!
	Finished indexing TX16W samples.
	Added two full sections.
Reorganized Looping section to general Patchmaking Tips.
--Now includes info on Tuning patches
Added more info in many sections.
	More links.

For the "Windows-challenged" :-):
	1. Copy the PATCHING.HLP to whichever directory you want it to permanently reside.
	2. I recommend that you create your own "Patching" Program Group with Program Manager (File | New). You can then place all your Patchmaking-related Icons in it (Patchmaker, Midi Patch Browser, GoldWave, and Patching.hlp)
	3. Open the Program Group in which you want to place the Patchmaking Reference, then choose File | New | Program Item | OK | Browse | and double-click on the filename.

Keep checking back for new revisions with more useful information. (Just compare the Dates on the File names).
