Syzygy 1856 STeam (early prototype)

Author: pp
Category: ATASCII demo
System: ATARI 800
Description:
This early drawing of this never released Syzygy
machine is an extremly important step in the history
of computer science.

This is the ever first steam computer that has been
concepted.

This drawing is from 1856, the author is unknown.

There are some noticeable elements:
- the computer is steam-powered;
- it has a 10-bytes memory (black box in the middle);
- the operating system was not in ROM and had to
be loaded manually (in the 10-bytes memory);
- there is no keyboard, nor mouse;
- it can display hexadecimal numbers (bottom left);
- you can find some design elements that will be
used later in 1985 on the Atari ST series;
- you can also find the ever first drawn Atari logo.

Finally, it was a low-power machine at high price,
and has never been released.
